Samsung SDI has been developing digital products of frontier level in the basis of world top display technology in the wide range from color Braun tube to leading flat display, PDP so called innovation of display, LCD and OLED the center of mobile display, and Lithium-ion Battery, the heart of mobile communication devices.

Samsung SDI, however, approaches its roll-out of AMOLED displays at a time when materials, structures and processes are far more mature. The company’s $450M manufacturing plant in Cheonan will have an annual capacity of 20M 2.0- to 2.6-inch displays fabricated on Gen 4 substrates (730×920mm), Lee Woo-Jong, vice president of Samsung SDI’s Mobile Display Business, said earlier this year. Lee identified the major target application as "digital multimedia broadcasting-enabled phones."

Also Samsung SDI is striving with endless efforts to build up the image of global company of trust and respect. It has introduced 'Sustainability Management' for the fist time in Korea which is being the topic in the 21st century management.

AMOLED applies independent R,G,B driving method unlike PMOLED which makes possible of high density & precision display. The cost for the equipment and materials of AM type is relatively expansive caused by its complex processes compared to PM method; however, AMOLED is prospected to have the world market in next-generation displays of post-TFT LCD, regardless of those disadvantages thanks to its low power consumption, high density & precision, quick response time, wide viewing angle, and slim design.
