In a laser television, the colors are-- the yellows are yellowier, the reds are redder. The secret is behind the screen: a pure red, pure green, and pure blue light that can be combined in a way to show colors the human eye has never been able to see on television before, and using only about a 1/4 of the power required by the same sized plasma screen.

And, speaking of size, this is an existing set that has had the laser system added. A pure laser TV can thin enough to hang on a wall.

These tiny beams are emitted from a laser smaller than your thumb. It's called a Necsel, and it was developed by the people at Novalux. TVs using it are already appearing at Consumer Electronics shows. Yet everyone at Novalux insists they are not a television company.
