Slim and light electronic display board incorporating multiple color electronic papers.
Fujitsu Frontech today announced development and commercial introduction of indoor display board “Super Frontech Vision EP series”, which adopts multiple color electronic papers and realizing ultra low-power operation.
This product is slim and compact display which integrates multiple color electronic papers. There are six models from 12-inch to 48-inch depending on number of panels integrated. Color electronic paper keeps a still image without power once drawn on the panel. Power is required only to redraw the image.
This product will be used several purposes such as electronic board for work instruction at a factory or as electronic information board at public places. This product will contribute to realize paperless society.
1. Rich size variations
There are 6 models; 12-inch (EP11), 17-inch (EP21), 24-inch (EP22), 29-inch (EP23), 36-inch (EP33) and 48-inch (EP44). These models commonly incorporate 12-inch color electronic paper at most 16 panels. There are two color variations; silver and off-black. It is possible to install this product in both vertical and horizontal directions. For the larger size over 48-inch, we will accept special order up to 120-inch (10 x 10).
2. World’s highest class low-power design
Jointly developed by Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. and Fujitsu Frontech Ltd., color electronic paper can keep a still image without power. Because power supply is necessary only for redrawing the image, tremendous power saving is realized. In comparison with ordinary liquid crystal panels or plasma display panels, less than one tenth of operation power is required (*1).
3. Slim, lightweight and easy to install
Ordinary displays have at least 100mm thick, but this product is very thin with 25mm (12 to 29-inch) to 54mm (36 to 48-inch) thick. It is also light weighted only 9.5kg (29-inch) to 32kg (48-inch), so that only easy construction is needed for installation. Because it consumes only 0.3A at 100V, you can operate by using an ordinary power outlet at wall.
4. Easy installation choosing from wired and wireless LAN
Because of high speed wireless LAN conformed to IEEE802.11b/g (*2) up to 54 Mbps, it can be installed to several spots. If wired LAN environment is already available, you can choose to use wired LAN.
5. Three hours operating time by built-in battery
Because lithium polymer battery is built in each panel, it can be operated for at most three hours (*3) without AC power supply even when blackout occurs.
6. Contents distribution software is also available
To distribute contents, the distribution software is also provided. Using this tool, it is possible to distribute image files like JPEG, GIF and BMP and other contents like Word, Excel, PowerPoint of Microsoft and PDF files of Adobe. It is possible both, to use each display separately or to use as one large display.
