Here are the facts:
Canon Inc. said Thursday that profit jumped 17 percent in the April-June quarter on hot-selling copiers, printers and digital cameras, as well as a weaker yen.
Net income rose to 123.9 billion yen (US$1.03 billion; €750 million) in the company's fiscal second quarter, from 105.9 billion yen a year earlier, the Tokyo-based electronics maker said in a release.
