The Blu-ray Disc Association has published the details of its final specification for 3D-enhanced Blu-ray video, dubbed Blu-ray 3D.
The format will have the ability to send a stereoscopic 1080p image to the user, and the great part is that despite the extra data needed, it only uses about 50 percent more than that the standard Blu-ray image, achieved thanks to an efficient variant of the H.264 video code knows as Multiview Video Coding (MVC), which fortunately is backwards compatible.
