AU Optronics Corp. will exhibit the latest TFT-LCD technologies and products from March 11 to 13 in FPD China 2009 in INTEX Shanghai, China. The exhibition highlights will include 240Hz super fast response time technology, 8000:1 high contrast ratio featuring AMVA 3 technology 46-inch LCD TV, superior environmental 52-inch "Eco-Plus" Full HD panel, ultra slim LED backlight LCD TV panel and a wide array of advanced products in all size applications.

This will mark AUO's first participation in a professional flat panel displays trade show in China. Setting its exhibition theme as "Green Innovation", AUO aims to bring more comfortable and convenient digital lifestyles to consumers by leveraging AUO's green technology innovations. The exhibition area is divided into several sections, including advanced LCD TV products and technology, green panels, leading mobile technology, audio/video display applications, PID applications, IT applications, general display applications and in-cell multi-touch panel technology.

Advanced LCD TV Products and Technology Section -- Showcasing Full HD 240Hz

AUO will exhibit the full range of its 46-inch to 65-inch Full HD LCD TV products family, in which 46- and 52-inch models save power by 40% with built-in 120Hz high response time technology and exhibit its 240Hz super fast response time technology, showcasing its leading edge in this area which is unlike other means of reaching such speed by using 120Hz with scanning backlight or black frame insertion. AUO's 240Hz high response time technology transmits 240 signals per second, significantly resolving motion blur problems and again represents AUO's ongoing innovative capability in developing advanced technology. In addition, the Company will also exhibit its 8000:1 high contrast ratio featuring AMVA 3 technology 46-inch LCD TV, which significantly surpasses specifications for current industry mainstream standards.

Green Panels Section -- Eco-friendly, Power Saving, Ultra Slim LED Backlight

To proactively fulfil promises envisaged in AUO Green Solutions, AUO will arrange a special section dedicated to green panels, exhibiting eco-friendly products such as the "Eco Plus" Full HD panel, which its weight, thickness, power consumption have all been reduced more than 30%. Other product highlights in this section will include the ultra slim 7.8mm thickness LED backlight 32-inch LCD TV panel and 9.8mm thickness LED backlight 46-inch LCD TV panel.

PID Section -- Showcasing 65-inch Full HD Portrait Panels

AUO will demonstrate its 52-inch and 65-inch Full HD portrait panels, which with slim bezel design and high brightness at 700 nits, are the optimum choice for PIDs.
